Amjid Ali

Councillor of Barnfield and Bushmead & Head of Opposition in Luton Borough Council

Amjid Ali was elected as Councillor for Barnfield Ward in the May 2023 local elections. And is currently the Leader of the Liberal Group and The Opposition Leader in LBC.

Amjid has lived in Luton for most of his life, having been educated in local schools.

A former member of Bedfordshire Volunteer Police Cadet Corps and active supporter of local and international charities. Amjid was invited to attend The Queens Garden Tea Party in 2007 in recognition of his services to the Luton Community.

Amjid has worked in various management roles within well recognised blue chip logistics companies. Specialising in change management and Budget implementation.

Amjid is passionate about the future of Luton and considers politics as part of his charitable work within the community, having observed Luton deteriorate into a crime ridden and dirtier town under successive Labour controlled councils.
