Sundon Park
CHRISTMAS TREE:
Through a Community Chest initiative, we were able to get a community Christmas Tree for the festive period at Sundon Park Parade, near the zebra crossing. We also had an excellent lights switch ceremony on December 4th. A special thanks must go to those from Parklea School who helped with decorations and carols, and the local Baptist church, who also helped out with carols as well.
Lots of residents also added their own decorations and after some teething problems, it was a great success. We are looking into the possibility of having this repeated as an annual thing.
FLY TIPPING BEHIND TESCO:
After several months, we were finally able to get an abatement order served to the private owner of the land. This has successfully achieved the aim of cleaning up the area just after Christmas. We are continuing to monitor the situation and exploring possibilities to accelerate the process if the fly-tipping does return.
SUNDON PARK SURGERY:
Starting next month, Councillor Steve Moore will be running appointments for those who feel more comfortable discussing issues face to face. These will be held on the first Saturday of every month between 10am-12pm at Morton's Cafe in Sundon Park Shops. 15-minute slots can be applied for by emailing steve.moore@lutonlibdem.org.uk, Steve.Moore@luton.gov.uk or texting 07563028247.
